Bare Soles is a women-owned nursing foot care practice serving Ottawa, Ontario, and the surrounding area. Our nurses come to you at home, in hospital, or in a retirement, long-term care or nursing home to assess and treat toenails, corns, calluses and ingrown toenails.

First visit $95 assessment and treatment

Healthy feet are the foundation of your overall wellbeing. Trusting them to experienced nursing professionals is a proactive way to prevent complications and support your long-term health.

Two things to send us ahead of your appointment, so your nurse can prepare for your visit.

  1. Complete the intake form. Fill it in online before your first appointment: open the intake form.

  2. Send a clear photo of your feet. Email it to baresolesinc@outlook.com, taken in good light.

To give every patient the best care, we kindly ask for your cooperation with the following.

24 hours' notice to cancel without a fee.

A $40.00 fee applies to no-shows and to cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice.

Questions about nursing foot care

Where do appointments take place?

Our nurses come to you. Bare Soles has no clinic: we visit clients at home, in hospital, in retirement homes, and in long-term care homes and nursing homes.

How much does nursing foot care cost at Bare Soles?

An initial assessment and treatment costs $95, a follow-up appointment costs $85, and a duo hand and foot care appointment costs $150. Additional fees may apply for complex cases that require specialized treatment or extended time.

What does the first visit include?

What foot concerns do your nurses look after?

Our nurses assess your feet and provide toenail trimming and thinning, corn and callus reduction, care for ingrown toenails, and assessment and care for fungal nails and warts. They also offer foot care education and follow-up appointments, and refer you to allied health professionals when appropriate.

Who provides the foot care?

Your care is provided by the co-founders of Bare Soles, a women-owned nursing foot care practice: a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN). Reach the Registered Nurse at extension 100 and the Registered Practical Nurse at extension 101.

Is a foot care nurse the same as a chiropodist or podiatrist?

No. Bare Soles provides nursing foot care. Your care is given by our nurses, a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), not by a chiropodist or podiatrist. When appropriate, we refer you to allied health professionals.

Is nursing foot care covered by insurance?

It depends on your plan. Many of our services are eligible for coverage through extended health insurance plans. Check with your insurance provider to see whether nursing foot care is included in your benefits. For veterans, we can bill Veterans Affairs Canada directly.

Do you bill Veterans Affairs Canada?

Yes. We care for veterans and can bill Veterans Affairs Canada directly. Ask us about it when you book.

What do I need to send before my appointment?

Complete our online intake form and send a clear photo of your feet before your visit. Email the photo, taken in good light, to baresolesinc@outlook.com.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel without a fee if you give at least 24 hours' notice. A $40 fee applies to no-shows and to cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice.
